THE DANCE CARTEL is after a new brand of dance experience. Taking note of a dance community that often serves a niche audience, the Cartel creates dances that are VIBRANT, IMMERSIVE and often PARTICIPATORY. Without sacrificing technical rigor or artistic ambition as a dance company, TDC endeavors to employ the social nature of dance, the charge of a party, and the sharpness of a music video to a fresh dance vocabulary that any Joe can get down with.
Come see the premiere of Wet Clutch - a drive-in dance experience that reinterprets and remixes movie heroines from the last four decades of American film. Featuring richly-layered original video design, an explosive and electric soundtrack, and high-endurance live performance by TDC's radically diverse group of dancers, WET CLUTCH invites the audience on a journey through the cultural mythology of Hollywood cinema and the role models it offers.
