Monday is Radio Day

Join us Monday as we welcome Steven Wright-Mark to the East Village Radio studio to chat about new projects, upcoming shows and a live performance.

Steven Wright-Mark is a NY-based musician/songwriter/producer, who released his first solo disc "Pop Motel" in 2007 on Not Lame Records.  After having played in a number bands, this was the first recording for which he played, sang and produced everything on the disc...as is the case with all his projects since.
Following that initial release, Steven became involved with Burning Sky Records, for which he contributes tracks to their highly-respected line of tribute albums, including "I Don't Believe You" for "Sensory Lullabies: The Ultimate Tribute To Jellyfish," and "Burn and Shine" for "Beautiful Escape: The Songs of The Posies Revisted." The latter was produced by legendary producer and musician Don Fleming, who produced the original "Frosting On The Beater" CD on which "Burn and Shine" first appeared. DIY pioneer R. Stevie Moore contributed piano to the track as well.
Steven has since released his follow-up solo disc "Sideshow Freak," and a couple of new Burning Sky Projects, including covering Roxy Music's "Trash" (from their "Manifesto" disc) "Take Refuge In Pleasure: The Songs of Roxy Music Revisited."   Just released July 2011 was his cover of Squeeze's "It's So Dirty," and a September 2011 release of  "Sheep" from the seminal New Zealand punk band Toy Love.
Steven has been playing solo acoustic dates over the past year, and is now starting to do the first series of shows with a live band, and is back in the studio working on his latest solo CD.
